"I recorded the Suite of Bach in 1985 for the Tricentennial of Johann Sebastian's birth. In the intervening years, I have come to the clear thought that I would want to do them again because I have changed as an artist. I felt I had more to say with a new recording, particularly on such a sublime instrument. David Fulton and I have been friends for a long time. His Stradivari , 'The Bass of Spain' is about the best-sounding cello in existence."
